How do I revive an old RCA Voyager III tablet that’s been unused for years?

I've got this old RCA Voyager III tablet that I used years ago when I was a kid. It's still in great shape with just a few scratches on the screen. I plugged it in recently, but after several hours, it still didn't show any signs of charging, which has me a bit worried. I'm not sure if that's typical for a tablet that hasn't been used in a long time. I'm really hoping to recover some data from it, so could anyone guide me on how to troubleshoot a tablet that won't turn on? I'm not very tech-savvy, so clear steps would be awesome!

It's really tough when a device has been sitting unused for so long. Generally, if a tablet's battery has fully depleted and then sits without charging, it can lead to issues. Flash memory usually needs to be used regularly to maintain its charge. If your tablet isn't responding after a good while on the charger, it might just be too far gone unless you can replace the battery.

I get that, but I only stopped using it about 4 years ago. Do you think that's enough time for it to totally die? I mean, I noticed the bottom part of the tablet got a bit warm when I plugged it in, which could mean the battery isn't completely shot, right?
