I recently completed my PC build and I'm trying to connect my internal USB 3.0 port. However, I'm worried that the connection might be too tight and could stress the port. The plug barely fits because it's hitting the case, which makes it hard to angle it correctly. Any tips on how to make this connection without damaging anything?

Connecting those can definitely be tricky! I've had some issues with it too in about a third of my builds. My approach has been to apply firm pressure while pushing it in. Just be careful; you don't want to damage anything, especially with the awkward angle in your case.
I totally understand your concern about damaging the port! The angle of the plug is important, and forcing it could definitely be risky. Just make sure you’re applying even pressure.
Is it possible that the thick grommet is causing the issue? If you can, try trimming some of the rubber away for a bit more space. That said, a 90-degree fitting and cable would be even better for ensuring a perpendicular connection to the board.
Even if that works, I would stick with getting the 90-degree fitting; it's the safer long-term solution.
You might want to try an angled adapter to make it easier to connect. By using a 90-degree adapter, you can reroute the connection without stressing the original port. There are various options available, so you'll likely find one that works for your setup. It might seem like a hassle to spend some money on these fittings, but it’s worth it to avoid damaging your board or cables.

You should check the photo the OP posted. The way the motherboard and case are designed can create misalignment, which adds to the difficulty of fitting the connector correctly.
