I'm trying to update my ASUS H110m-plus motherboard BIOS using EZ Flash, but the only file I can find on the official ASUS website is a .CAP file inside a .rar download. I noticed that many guides mention a tool called biosrenamer.exe, but I can't find it. Is it necessary to rename the .CAP file for the update, or can I just leave it as is?

You can rename the .CAP file manually on your computer, but it’s really just for convenience. Check the motherboard manual to see the recommended name for using BIOS flashback. If you can access the BIOS, just put the file on a USB, boot into BIOS, select the file, and update without renaming!
You only need to rename the BIOS file if you're using the flashback method. If you're updating from within the BIOS, the name doesn’t really matter as long as the file has the right extension.
If you need to do a "headless" update (like when the CPU isn't compatible and you can’t even boot into BIOS), then yes, you’ll need to rename the file according to what the motherboard requires. Just make sure to use a USB drive formatted to FAT32 or exFAT. If the BIOS works fine, you can use any USB drive, just throw the .CAP file in the root directory so it’s easy to find.
