I've never used Rufus before and I'm trying to set up a USB drive to install Linux on one laptop. However, I want to make sure that the computer I'm using to run Rufus (which has Windows installed) doesn't accidentally boot into Linux. Can anyone walk me through the process? I'd really appreciate any visual guides or tips!

Don't worry too much! Rufus won't make your Windows PC boot into Linux unless you tell it to. When you use Rufus to create a Linux installer USB, it only prepares the USB drive for booting Linux on another computer. So, as long as you stick to using it just to format and write the Linux ISO to the USB, your Windows PC will stay unaffected. Plus, if you’re looking for visual instructions, you can usually find helpful video tutorials online!

That’s good to know! Do you think it's worth using alternative tools like Balena Etcher instead, or is Rufus just as good?
