I'm trying to find a user-friendly Linux distribution and I'm leaning towards Kubuntu. However, I have some doubts regarding its telemetry practices compared to Ubuntu. Is Kubuntu also sending telemetry data to developers? Additionally, I'd like to know if Flatpaks are available on Kubuntu.

Kubuntu is basically Ubuntu, but with the KDE desktop environment by default. So, if you're worried about telemetry, know that you can choose whether or not to enable it when setting up. As for Flatpaks, yes, they can be used on Kubuntu, so you're covered there! No need to stress about the controversy you hear around Ubuntu.
If you're not keen on sending crash reports, remember that all telemetry is opt-in. You can easily opt out. Also, Flatpaks are entirely compatible with any distro, including Kubuntu, so that's not an issue either.
True, plus the only telemetry that collects any info is a one-time report during installation, and you can skip that.
