How long does it take for a new Favicon to show up in Google Search results?

Hey everyone! I'm trying to figure out how long it usually takes for a new Favicon to update in Google Search results. I've verified the new icon using Google's tool, and everything seems fine with the image. I even requested a re-index of my homepage a few days ago through Google Search Console. But the old icon is still popping up in searches. I'm aware that this could take some time, but I'm curious about how long this typically lasts—should I expect days or even weeks? It's my first time going through this wait, so I'd really appreciate hearing about your experiences. Thanks!

I can relate! I'm dealing with the same situation. I’ve done everything in Search Console, but it feels like progress is moving at a glacier's pace. I've received some error notifications, and after fixing those, I'm just stuck waiting. The error messages weren't very clear, and it's frustrating. Definitely feels like a waiting game!

I totally hate this online waiting game too. It takes forever to figure out what’s going wrong!

Typically, it takes about 3 to 7 days for Google to update the Favicon. Even if you've verified the new icon, Google sometimes caches the old version. To help with this, make sure you re-index your site in Search Console and set proper cache headers for the Favicon. That should speed things up a bit!
