I accidentally dropped my Samsung A56 in a shallow tub of clean water, and it was only half submerged, reaching up to the charging port. I got it out in less than two seconds and turned it off right away. The phone is fairly new with no repairs done yet. I removed the SIM card and tray, dried it off, and placed it in a Ziploc bag with some silica gel packets. It's been about two hours now, and I'm wondering how long I should keep it off to avoid any damage.

If you're really worried, you can always put it in a bag of dry rice for about 3 hours. But tech-wise, it should be fine since it's supposed to be waterproof!
Make sure it dries out completely. If you notice any signs of water inside, you should probably get the back cover off so it can dry properly. Take your time with it!
Your phone is actually IP67 rated, which means it can handle being submerged in water up to 1 meter for 30 minutes. Since you turned it off quickly, it should be fine; you might not even need to stress about it too much!
To be safe, I’d suggest keeping it off for at least 24 hours. The longer you leave it off, the better. If you can manage it, hold off on using it for as long as possible!

Wait, they make waterproof charging ports now? I used to think that was just a fancy marketing term!
