I'm currently using an AMD Ryzen 9 3900X with a ROG STRIX B550-F GAMING motherboard, an RX 7800XT GPU, and 32GB of 3600 RAM. I'm considering upgrading to a Ryzen 7 5800X3D, but it's nearly impossible to find one for a reasonable price. Are there any other CPU options that would provide a significant performance boost for gaming that I can get for under £200? Or should I just hold off and save for an AM5 setup instead?

Honestly, there aren’t many great options right now. But if you could sell your 3900X and B550 motherboard for around £120-150, you could put that towards a new B760 DDR4 board and a 14600KF. The 14600KF actually outperforms the 5800X3D, so that might be worth considering! Check this build for ideas: [link to parts].

I'm planning to go for an AM5 build with a bigger budget, but I wanted something to tide me over since some newer games are really pushing my rig. Crimson Desert has been a real challenge!
