Hey everyone! I get that web development is a lifelong learning journey, but I feel like I need some clarity. I want to build my own projects and tools for myself and friends—not necessarily for a job, as I know the competition is tough out there. I've seen suggestions that it might take 1.5 to 3 years of learning before diving into building something. Is that really the case? How much should I actually know before I start? What kind of practice is enough to feel ready? P.S.: I really don't want my projects to turn out like that tea app breach!

You should just start building right away! Even if it takes a while to complete features, working on projects you care about is the best learning experience. You might even need to redo things later, but that's all part of the game!
Just jump in and start building! That's the best way to learn. Don’t worry too much about perfection; experiment and see what works for you.
Honestly, you can start building from day one! Just learn as you go. Build whatever, like simple projects at first, and you’ll learn more while doing. Eventually, you'll want to specialize, but it’s fine to explore different things in the beginning.
Thanks for the encouragement! I’m excited to get started.
