I just realized that the Y2K38 issue is only about 12 years away! I'm curious to know how prepared the world is, especially in areas like banking and other legacy industries. Have they updated their systems to use 64-bit time? Are there any remaining systems or codebases that are still at risk of not being ready for this change?

Honestly, I wouldn’t be too worried until around 2035. I might even come out of retirement just to help companies fix their systems as the deadline approaches. But on a serious note, with AI assisting in coding, it might not be as chaotic as Y2K was.

I hear you! I'll be in my 50s when that hits, which is perfect timing to boost my retirement savings.
