I'm really curious about the potential speed of human advancement, especially when it comes to technology. I don't have a deep understanding of AI, but I often hear a lot of negative perspectives. A comparison I like to make is with the Warhammer 40k universe, where there's a faction called the Tau, who advanced from cave dwellers to a super advanced civilization in just 5,000 years. Could humanity potentially reach similar heights in a short time frame due to our advancements in AI? Or are we actually looking at a timeline of 10,000 years or more for such a significant gap in tech? Of course, all this assumes AI won't lead to our downfall, haha!

I really think if we achieve AGI, things could ramp up quickly! With exponential growth, AGI could lead to advancements we can't even imagine yet. The main slowdown could be resource limitations and our ability to set up the necessary factories and machinery based on AGI's ideas.
That makes sense! But given we're just one planet, our resource pool is pretty limited, right? Wouldn't that create a massive hurdle? Unless we decide to explore beyond Earth to keep up with AGI's demands.
