How Should I Approach Learning Coding for My College Project?

I'm a second-year college student studying Computer Science and Engineering, and I currently don't know much about coding. We've been assigned a project for our fourth semester, and the topic I've chosen is college management software. I thought it would be a great opportunity to learn, so I've been trying to build it as a website. I have a basic understanding of HTML and have been using ChatGPT for coding help. Now, I'm wondering if it's better for me to take a traditional approach, like watching YouTube tutorials and following a course, or if I can continue using AI tools like chatbots to assist me in my learning journey.

I recommend going through a solid coding course, like Free Code Camp or The Odin Project. While using AI tools to help with coding is convenient, eventually you’ll run into errors that you won't know how to fix on your own, and understanding the code generated by the AI is crucial. Reading and writing code are different skills that you'll need to develop separately. If you're relying too much on the AI, you might find it hard to create your own solutions down the line.

I know this might sound silly, but can you actually learn to code well in just a couple of months? I've got to have my website done in about 2-3 months. I realize I won't become a full-stack developer in that time, but is there a way to get help, like finding volunteers for back-end work?
