I'm trying to figure out the best way to name a folder where I plan to store typeface fonts and frameworks. Should I go with "Programming files" or "Programming archive"? I want to choose a name that makes sense, but I'm not sure about the distinction between 'files' and 'archives' in this context.

I've seen a lot of people just call it 'assets.' Also, going all lowercase for names is a common practice.
When it comes to files and archives, an archive usually means something that's compressed, like a .zip file. It's not efficient for reading, but great for storage. Think of a file like a display shelf and an archive as the back storage.
Many just go with 'resources' for folders featuring fonts and frameworks.
Independent of programming, I think of an archive as a place for things we've finished and no longer need for our current tasks, like old emails or project folders.
You could always go for a funny name like 'Top secret pornography'! Just saying, it might grab attention.
Honestly, why not just call it 'fonts'? There's really no specific programming definition for 'files' vs. 'archive.' Every folder has files, so naming it 'files' doesn't bring much clarity. If these are assets for your app, like fonts and images, most people simply use 'assets' as a folder name.
Thanks for the suggestion!
In English, 'archive' typically refers to compressed files. In Portuguese, the word is more interchangeable with 'file,' which can cause some confusion. Most often, an 'archive' is what you use to hold things you're not currently working on but might need later.
Instead of those names, why not call the folder 'fonts-frameworks'? And it's better to avoid spaces in folder names.
Haha, yeah, 'typeface font' is a bit of a mix-up. Just remember, a typeface and a font are not the same thing!
