Hey folks, I just set up Linux Mint and noticed that the default video player is Celluloid. I need a little help figuring out how to change some of its settings. I've heard that to adjust things like scaling or window size, I might have to mess around with a text file, which seems a bit odd for a basic feature like that. Do you really have to edit a file to make Celluloid remember its dimensions every time you open it? Anyone else feel like this process is unnecessarily complicated, or is it just me?

You definitely can find some settings in Celluloid by clicking on the three dots and going to Preferences. There might be options there that could help you out without having to dive into text files.
I agree, it’s strange that a video player would require you to edit a file for basic functions. Having a user-friendly interface is so important, and Celluloid doesn’t seem to have that figured out.
If you’re looking to switch from Celluloid altogether, it’s super easy! Just uninstall Celluloid to make VLC your default player. But if you actually want to keep using Celluloid, you might want to check the Preferences menu in the app itself; you can change settings there without needing to edit any text files.
Right, I get that VLC is an option, but I really want to understand what I can do in Celluloid itself. It's just confusing that some settings can't be adjusted easily through the app.
