I'm looking to create an e-commerce site for a bakery as a way to gain experience and enhance my resume. I've done some mock websites over the years, but this time I want to take it more seriously. While I plan to handle most of the front end by myself and use a checkout system like Stripe or Square, I'm not exactly sure about the other steps needed to make the site successful. Any suggestions on what I should consider or add?

You might want to consider using pre-built platforms like Shopify or WooCommerce instead of building everything from scratch. E-commerce involves a lot of features like transaction history, order management, and payment processing which can get complicated. Using these platforms can save you a ton of time and effort.

That makes sense. I just wanted to create something simple to start with and build from there. I'll definitely check out those options.
