How to Change File Ownership in Windows When Access is Denied?

I'm trying to change ownership of a file and ended up in the admin command prompt using the command: `takeown /f "C:(file)(file)(etc)" /R /A /D Y`. However, when I run this command, I get an 'ERROR: Access is denied.' I really need to delete a couple of folders, but it seems like I don't have the necessary administrator privileges. Can anyone assist me? I'll provide more info if needed!

If you're having issues with permissions like this, you might want to consider reformatting the drive, especially if it's a last resort for you. Just be aware that reformatting will erase all data on it, so make sure you really want to go that route before you do anything drastic!

Wait, can you explain what reformatting involves? I’m a total newbie when it comes to these things.
