How to Choose Cooling and Optimize My First PC Build?

I'm building my first gaming PC and I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed, especially when it comes to cooling solutions. I have a list of parts ready, but I'm missing a CPU cooler and fans. My main use case will be gaming, photo editing, 3D modeling, and coding, and I need the system to handle long gaming sessions that can last over 10 hours. My budget is around $2,500, and I'm worried about performance versus cost—am I overspending on any components? Also, will everything I picked be compatible? I'm curious about using a 240 or 280mm radiator for cooling, possibly a 360mm if needed. I've heard mixed opinions about Corsair liquid coolers; are they worth it or are there better, budget-friendly options? I also want some headroom for overclocking and I'm unsure if my combo of AMD 9800X3D and 5070Ti is good enough for gaming at 1080p to 4K with decent settings.

You definitely have some parts that are overpriced. The ASUS Strix GPU can be a bit of a money grab due to the brand. Also, a dual tower air cooler will handle your CPU just fine, and you could optimize your RAM and storage choices for better performance without going over budget. It’s all about finding the right balance—like opting for PCIe 4 instead of PCIe 5 if you’re gaming.

I feel you on the storage part! Unless you’re working with massive files, PCIe 5 won’t make much of a difference for gaming. Stick with good PCIe 4 options to save some cash!

Honestly, you're paying a premium for the 5070Ti. You might want to look at the 5080 instead; it's just a bit more expensive and offers better performance. For cooling, you don’t really need a liquid cooler for the 9800X3D unless you’re pushing high overclocks. A solid air cooler will do just fine, but if you want the aesthetics of AIO, consider something like a Thermalright cooler—it performs well without breaking the bank.

Exactly! You can achieve great cooling without going overboard. And don’t stress too much about brand matching; as long as they’re compatible and meet performance standards, you should be fine.
