How to Connect Two USB-C SSDs to One Port Without Issues?

I'm trying to connect two 4TB SanDisk SSDs to my desktop, but I only have one USB-C port. I bought a hub a while back, but when both drives are plugged in, it frequently disconnects, especially when I'm using one of them. I'm wondering if my hub is low quality or defective, and what alternative devices are out there that would work better for this setup? It's important for me to maintain fast speeds since I'm using these drives for video editing.

It sounds like you might be dealing with a budget hub that isn’t up to the task. A lot of these cheaper hubs can struggle with multiple high-speed devices. Definitely check the reviews online to see if others have had similar issues. Sometimes you get what you pay for.

Agreed! It’s definitely worth investing in a more reliable hub if you're planning to use it for heavy tasks like video editing.

I thought Ugreen was a solid brand too, but not all their products are reliable.

You might be hitting a power limit, especially if the hub doesn't have a separate power input. Honestly, for performance, it might be better to connect each SSD directly using USB-A cables instead. That way, you're reducing the chances of something failing mid-edit.

So you're saying to get an adapter for one drive instead of using the hub? Would I still get good speeds that way?

Definitely! Just make sure that both drives are connected directly to the PC. It could improve your speeds quite a bit.
