How to Fix a Non-Responsive Touch Screen at Work Without Restarting?

I work at a shop that has two counters, and unfortunately, one of them has a non-responsive screen. The problem is with a touch keyboard that is installed, which prevents us from clicking or touching anything on the screen. Our company has strict rules that don't allow us to restart the computer, which makes this situation tricky. Is there a way to disable the touch feature using only the keyboard while keeping the system running? I've tried accessing additional screens and worked through the Task Manager on Windows 10, but I need more help.

It sounds really frustrating! If the touch input is frozen, it might help to try disabling the touch screen driver via the Device Manager using just the keyboard. You can press Win + X, then use the arrow keys to navigate to 'Device Manager'. Once there, find 'Human Interface Devices', and see if you can find the touch device to disable it with the context menu using the Shift + F10 keys. Good luck!

I totally understand your situation! It's tricky when the rules are so strict. But remember, you shouldn't be handling tech support for your business on weekends. Let the IT handle it! They should be able to send someone to check this out soon enough. Are there any emergency contacts you can reach out to?

Yeah, I wish there was an easier solution. I've raised the issue, but unfortunately, they're not responsive either. Guess I'm stuck until Monday!

I get that some workplace rules can be a headache, especially not being able to restart. Have you thought about raising the issue with your IT department? They might have a way to fix it without all the hassle, even if that's not what you're hoping for right now.
