How to Get a Website Made Without Getting Scammed?

Hi everyone! A company I know needs to create a website, but they're totally clueless about the process. I just discovered we can buy domain names, but I'm unsure who actually builds the website. Can anyone guide me on where to find these services? What are the typical costs involved, and how can we avoid getting scammed? Also, please, no offers or DMs about jobs; I just need some solid advice!

Avoid using GoDaddy for hosting; there are better options out there!

Why not?

It sounds like you need both a domain and hosting first. For actual website creation, you could either hire someone to code it, or go with platforms like Wix or Squarespace, which handle hosting for you but offer fewer customization options. If you're looking for a custom site, make sure to choose a quality host and work with a developer.

You're looking for a web developer! The budget you have will really determine how trustworthy your options are. Generally, lower budgets mean higher risks for scams. A good tip is to check out local websites you like and see who developed them as a starting point.
