How to Get Rid of the Title Bar in Firefox on Linux Mint?

I'm using Linux Mint on an old laptop with an Intel i5 4th gen processor, and I really like how smooth Mint runs. However, I'm not a fan of the extra title bar that Cinnamon adds to Firefox, which takes up valuable space on my small screen. Is there a way to remove that title bar? If not, can I switch over to KDE Plasma on Linux Mint, and how difficult is it to change desktop environments? Would using KDE affect the performance on my system?

You might not be able to disable the title bar globally in Cinnamon. Some applications have that option, but if not, you’re stuck with it. Regarding performance with different desktop environments, it really depends on your RAM. You mentioned you have 4GB, so switching to KDE Plasma should be fine, but keep in mind it might use a bit more memory than Cinnamon. In general, any modern DE like KDE or Cinnamon won’t make a huge difference unless you’re running very low on RAM, so you should be okay.

Thanks for the info! So, I could go for KDE without fear, right?

To remove the title bar in Firefox, just right-click on the tab bar and uncheck 'Menu Bar'. Alternatively, you can go to 'Customize Toolbar' and uncheck 'Title Bar' at the bottom left. This should clean up your Firefox window and free up some screen space!
