How to Install Linux on a New SSD with Full Encryption?

I'm currently running Windows 10, but I'm planning to switch to Linux and get a new SSD for this purpose. I'm particularly interested in running Arch Linux, potentially within the Qubes environment. I'm looking for guidance on how to proceed with this setup. Specifically, I'd like to know how to encrypt the SSD either during or prior to installation, and how to partition the drive properly to achieve my desired system configuration. I've spent some time familiarizing myself with the terminal, so I'm not completely new to this, though I admit I still have a lot of questions. Also, the Arch Discord server is down right now. Additionally, I want to ensure that I'm using secure downloads; I've heard about using SSH keys, and I'd appreciate some insights on that too.

If you're looking for straightforward full disk encryption and you’re a bit unsure about the process, you might want to start with a user-friendly distro like Ubuntu. Arch can be a bit complex for beginners since it requires a lot of manual configuration, and Qubes is definitely on the obscure side. Have you considered trying a more popular distro alongside Arch?

I agree, Arch does seem a bit niche. Is there a more mainstream option that could work while still being close to what Arch offers?
