I'm wondering if anyone can guide me on installing Linux on my iMac desktop that has an M3 chip. I bought the computer last year, and I've had trouble finding clear instructions online. Specifically, should I download the ARM64 version of Linux for it? If anyone has experience or knows the steps involved in getting Linux up and running on an Apple M3 chip, I would greatly appreciate your help. Thanks in advance!

Unfortunately, as of now, it seems that Linux doesn't support the M3 chip yet. The Asahi Linux project is currently focused on M1 and M2 chips only. You might want to keep an eye on their website for updates in the future!
You're right about Asahi being a key player in this. But as it stands, you can only really install it on M1 and M2 devices. Even those installations come with some hassles, like incomplete support for features like internal speakers and Thunderbolt. It feels like it's more suited for enthusiasts who want to tinker or help improve the software.
