I recently got a new ThinkPad after my old laptop broke down, but I managed to save the old hard drive and put it in a new enclosure. My plan is to boot Windows from the old HDD while running Linux on my new PC. I can boot from the old HDD, but I'm having trouble with internet access and configuring it. Do I need to copy over new drivers or should I reinstall Windows? This is my first time attempting this, and I want to keep all the files and software from the old drive intact.

Just to clarify, are you looking to remove Windows from the old setup and run Linux instead? If that’s the case, I recommend a fresh reinstall of Windows. It’s usually the quickest and cleanest approach.
Just to clarify, my new laptop runs Windows 11, which I'm not a fan of. I want to keep my old HDD on Windows 10 as is. The goal is to eventually switch the new laptop to Linux after getting access to my old Windows 10 drive. Hope this helps.
You can download the necessary drivers for your new laptop onto a USB stick and install them from there. The issue could be that the old and new laptops have different WiFi cards, so make sure to check which one your new laptop is using.
