Hey everyone! I recently got an ASUS TUF Gaming 27" 1440P Monitor (VG27AQL5A) that requires 240 volts to operate. The problem is, the cable that came with it is a 125V one. To complicate things, my country's power standard is 220V. I'm not very knowledgeable about electrical systems, so I'm hoping to get some guidance.
Would using a 220V cable I have from an old monitor be a better option than the 125V one? Right now, I'm planning to use an adapter to plug the 125V cable into the socket, but I'm worried about how the voltage differences will affect everything. What should I definitely avoid doing to ensure I don't damage my new monitor?

Honestly, getting the right cable should be easy! You can find a 220V cable at a local hardware store or even online for a few bucks. Just make sure one end matches your monitor's original cable, and the other fits into your country's sockets.
Most modern monitors will automatically switch between 120V and 220V, but check the back for a switch just in case. Don't stress about the 220V vs 240V; that's within range for most devices.
With a proper adapter, you shouldn't have issues. The monitor itself is built to handle a range of voltages, so just be sure to use a compatible cable.
You should definitely get a 220V power cable. Your monitor will work well with it as long as the plug fits into your socket.

I appreciate the insight! I’ve got adapters for the sockets here in Argentina, so that part is fine. My main concern was if connecting the 125V cable to the 220V socket would damage it, especially since I’m not certain about the adapter's ability to manage voltage.
