I'm looking to install a 2TB drive and use it as my main Windows OS drive (C drive). I've seen mentions of cloning software for this task, but I'm unsure which one to go with. Can anyone recommend the best cloning software and share any helpful tips for the process?

You can give Macrium Reflect Free a shot; it's available on the Majorgeeks website. It's free and has a good reputation for cloning without any hassle!

Most newer SSDs come with their own software that's pretty reliable. You can either connect the new drive directly to the motherboard or use a USB to SATA adapter for cloning. Make sure to check if you need a 2.5" to 3.5" bracket for installation. Once cloned, test everything for a few days before deciding whether to keep your old drive for backup or use it for extra storage.

I recommend creating a USB version of Hiren's BootCD PE. Once you have both HDD/SSD installed, boot from the USB and go to the "Hard Disk Tools - Imaging" section. You can use Lazesoft Disk Image & Clone or Macrium Reflect to clone your old drive. It’s pretty straightforward—just follow the prompts, and you’ll be set!

Clonezilla is a solid option! Just install the new SSD, boot into Clonezilla, and clone your old drive as the source to the new one as the target. After that, boot from the new SSD and wipe the old one! Easy peasy.
