How to Transfer Windows from a SATA SSD to an NVMe SSD?

I've just installed a new Samsung 990 Evo 2TB NVMe SSD, and it appears in Windows File Explorer. My current boot drive is a 2.5" SATA SSD, and I want to move my operating system from the SATA SSD (C:) to the new NVMe SSD (D:). Is it achievable to do this, and what steps should I follow? I have a bootable drive ready, but when I attempt to install Windows 11 on the NVMe, the drive doesn't show up in the installation list. I understand I can't have two boot disks at the same time, so how can I properly transfer my boot drive to the new NVMe SSD?

You can use Samsung Magician to clone your drives, which should make an exact replica of your current Windows setup, including all your files and programs. But if you're looking to start fresh on the NVMe without all the clutter from your SATA drive, then cloning might not be the best option for you.

If you're planning to replace the SATA SSD completely with the NVMe and want a clean setup, consider using Macrium Reflect for a clean install. It’s pretty straightforward. Just make sure the old drive is disconnected during installation to avoid any boot conflicts.

That makes sense! I really want to avoid carrying over all the junk from the SATA drive, so starting fresh sounds great. Thanks for your suggestion!
