How to unlock BitLocker encrypted drives for Linux and reencrypt them?

I'm looking to switch from Windows 10 and need help understanding the data storage process. I have several physical internal drives that are encrypted with BitLocker. I'm trying to figure out how to unlock these drives and reencrypt the data so I can access it with a Linux distribution. Additionally, I'm curious if this new encryption method will be compatible with other operating systems like macOS. I've read a lot of guides, but they often focus on simple setups with just one drive rather than dealing with a large amount of data like 4TB of RAW photos on RAID drives. Most of this data is archived, so while I need to access it, I don't need to interact with it constantly.

To unlock BitLocker, you'll need to do that from Windows itself. Once unlocked, if you want to switch to something Linux-friendly, consider using LUKS, which is specifically for Linux. If you want cross-platform support, VeraCrypt is worth looking into—you can use it on Windows, Linux, and macOS.

Definitely back up your data before making any changes! I get it can be frustrating hearing that again, but it's crucial. Just to clarify, once you're able to unlock the drives with Windows, you should be able to decrypt from BitLocker and encrypt again with the new option without needing to change the file structure.
