Hey everyone,
I recently uninstalled the iTunes app on my Windows 11 machine without backing up my library, which was a mistake. Luckily, the files are still organized on my computer. After reinstalling iTunes from the Microsoft Store—since the Apple website version doesn't seem to work anymore—I'm facing a problem. My last backup of the library was from August 2024, and I have added some new songs that are still present on my computer in the consolidated iTunes folder.
The .itl file is wiped, but I copied the old .itl file from my external drive back into the iTunes folder. I tried using the shift-click method to set the library to this file, but it only shows my purchased songs and not the complete library.
Could this be a sync issue? Is there a reason the library isn't appearing correctly just from copying the .itl file without other files? Also, my iPod is still functioning and updated; is there any way to restore my library using that?

When you uninstall iTunes, it doesn't delete your iTunes Library files, so those should still be on your computer. If your .itl file is missing or corrupted, you won't be able to restore your library just by copying it back. The idea of creating a new library and importing your media instead could be a solution if your library files are intact. Unfortunately, you can't just copy .itl files from different libraries directly and expect them to work. Plus, integrating songs from your iPod will require third-party software, as iTunes doesn't let you do that. Good luck!
