I'm looking to upgrade my setup with an ASUS STRIX G15 G512LU that has a GTX 1660 Ti (6GB VRAM). I'll be getting a new monitor to handle an increased workload, but I'm curious about how well this older GPU can manage a 1440p display. I plan to connect it using USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 with DisplayPort Alt mode to maximize the refresh rate. Any thoughts on what to expect?

Connecting a 1440p monitor shouldn’t be a problem for your GPU. Even older cards like the HD6950 could do it. However, gaming performance might be hit or miss. It’ll handle esports titles smoothly at high settings, but don’t expect much from more demanding games unless you dial down the graphics a lot.

That sounds fine! I mainly stick to games like Apex Legends and Valorant, and I usually code too.
