I was all set to go to an Angels game when someone stole my ticket. I tried to trick him using a grabify link, but he figured it out and is now threatening to find my location. How scared should I actually be about this situation, and what steps can I take to protect myself?

In most cases, an IP can only tell you which ISP the person is using, and that doesn't give out much info about them. Just be cautious!

But couldn’t they do something like boot me offline or trace me?

Honestly, you don’t need to panic. IP addresses usually only pinpoint a general area, not an exact location. You're likely safe!

So, how exactly did he steal your ticket? Were they physical or digital? If they were digital, you might be able to recall them through the ballpark app. If that's not an option, try logging into your MLB or StubHub account to recover them. If all else fails, disputing the charge might be your best shot!

They were digital through the ballpark app, but it wouldn’t let me recall them back. MLB customer service is pretty terrible too.
