I accidentally dropped my iPhone in the bath – should I be worried?

I accidentally dropped my iPhone 14 in the bath for just a second but managed to grab it quickly. I removed the case, towel dried it, turned it off, and let it dry in front of a fan for about 45 minutes. Everything seems to be working fine – Face ID, camera, and no overheating. I'm hesitant to charge it yet. Am I overreacting, or could there be damage? I tend to freak out a bit when I Google these things! Also, the speakers sound clear as ever.

You shouldn't worry too much! My friend took their iPhone 12 Pro for a long swim, and it's still running perfectly after a couple of years. Just keep an eye on it but relax, it's probably just fine.

Dang, that's risky but makes me feel much better, lol.

Wtf, madman. My 15 got water damage just from being in the bathroom while I showered!

The iPhone 14 has an IP68 water resistance rating, so it should handle a quick dip just fine. You've done all the right things by drying it off and letting it air out. No worries!

Excellent news, thank you!

Most modern phones handle water exposure well, especially the more recent models. You took care of it quickly, so it should be fine. Just be cautious about charging it for a bit until you're sure everything's completely dry.

It's always a good idea to back up your data anyway, just in case. If you've got a solid iCloud plan, you're set. Better to be safe than sorry!

If your phone seems fine now, the chances are it's going to stay that way. Typically, any immediate issues show up right away, so breathe easy!
