Hey everyone, hope you're all having a great day! I recently grabbed an i9 14900k at what I believe is a great price. Currently, I'm using an i5 10600k along with an AMD 7800XT and 48GB of DDR4 RAM running at 2667MT. I usually game at 1440p and I'm curious to know how much of a performance boost I should expect in AAA games and general PC performance with this upgrade. I plan to pair the i9 with a 1700 socket motherboard and some DDR5 in the future. Just to clarify, I'm not looking for opinions on why I didn't go for the AMD 7800X3D, and I've already done my homework on the possible issues that come with the 14th Gen processors.

At 1080p, you could realistically see around a 50% improvement if your CPU was the bottleneck. However, since you're gaming at 1440p with the 7800XT, the CPU likely isn't your main issue, so the gains might not be as significant.
You should notice a pretty solid uplift in 1% lows across most games, plus some hefty boosts in specific titles. Games that are heavy on single-core usage, like older Civ games and flight simulators, will benefit a lot. You might also see improvements in FPS for racing games! Personally, I’ve got a 14700k and it performs well for gaming, but it's not great for other tasks.
That’s a helpful perspective! I'll keep that in mind when upgrading.
