I've recently upgraded from my ISP's router to a Tp-Link Archer BE6500, which is situated on the second floor of my house. Now, I'm struggling with WiFi access on the first floor. My TV and Xbox refuse to connect in the living room, whereas they connected just fine with the ISP router. I do get a decent signal in the sitting area at the bottom of the stairs. I'm considering adding another router and using an easy mesh system to extend the WiFi coverage. However, I can't run an Ethernet cable to this second router, so I'd need it to connect wirelessly. Is this a viable solution?

Adding a second router to extend your network could definitely help, but placement is key. Make sure the second router is positioned where it can still receive a solid signal from the main router before rebroadcasting it to your devices. Keep in mind that this wireless connection won't match the quality of a wired one, but it should improve connectivity if set up correctly. Additionally, consider using Powerline adapters or MoCA technology to leverage your existing electrical or coaxial wiring instead of relying solely on WiFi.
Thanks for the info! I'll check if I can get the coax hooked up and look for a compatible router.

For MoCA to work, yes, you'd have to connect it to the coaxial line in the house. You'd also need to have another router that supports it so it can distribute the internet throughout your home.
