I'm trying to figure out which CPU would be a better choice for running CAD programs and general office tasks while considering price to performance. I'm looking for a machine that can stay relevant for about 5 to 10 years. Here are my two build lists: AMD and Intel. Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

If you're aiming for a long-lasting PC, I'd say go with AMD. The Intel Arrow Lake is nearing the end of its life cycle, while AMD's AM5 platform will support future upgrades like Zen 6. This means with a simple CPU swap a year or so down the line, you could potentially unlock a ton more performance, much more than what the 9600X offers. However, if this is just for an affordable office setup, consider a MiniPC like a Minisforum or Beelink. They don’t require assembly, and you could always grab a new one later if you find you need more power.
From what I can see, I'd lean toward the Intel processor. Just keep in mind, you're comparing different tiers here; the 265K is probably closer to the 9700X in performance, while the 245K aligns more with the 9600X you mentioned.
But honestly, the 265K is more on par with the 9900X if you're making a direct comparison.
