I'm about to buy my first PC from a friend for around $300, and I wanted to get some opinions on whether that's a good price. My friend built this PC around 2022 and has since upgraded, so he's looking to sell it. Here are the specs:
- CPU: Intel Core i5 9th Gen (F series, no integrated graphics)
- GPU: NVIDIA GTX 1650 (4GB)
- RAM: 16GB DDR4
- Storage: 128GB SSD + 1TB HDD
- PSU: ~600–700W, Gold rated (exact model unknown)
- Cooling: One case fan is broken, but the system works fine
- Monitor: 27" curved, 1080p, 165Hz, IPS, response time 0.5–0.6ms

That price seems reasonable, especially since it comes with a monitor. But remember, the parts are a bit outdated. You might want to look for similar setups available in your area to see if you’re getting a fair deal. If you can, save up for something a bit more powerful, like a build with a GTX 2060, for better gaming performance.
Honestly, $300 isn't bad for this setup, but I wouldn't personally spend that amount on it. It just doesn't meet my needs. However, if you're only looking for a basic PC to get started, it could work for you! Just keep in mind that performance may not be what you expect for newer games.
I totally understand, I really just want a PC for gaming and development. It's my first one, and I've been wanting one forever since I turned 18, so it's exciting!

Yeah, I’m starting to see that it’s not all that great for newer games. I might try to negotiate and drop the price by $100. Do you think that would be a better deal?
