I'm considering purchasing a pair of 16GB RAM sticks rated at 6800MHz with CL34 latency for €135. Is this RAM suitable for a 9800X3D processor? Alternatively, would it be wiser to spend an extra €40 on a 6000MHz CL30 setup, or go for another 6000MHz CL36 option at the same price of €135?

I get that the 6000MHz option is the sweet spot, but considering it’s €40 more, if you can set the 6800MHz RAM down to 6000MHz and only lose a tiny bit of performance, it's a smart way to save some cash.
I’d say just grab the 6800 CL34 RAM. You might be able to tweak it down to 6000MHz and get better timings. Spending an extra €40 for the 6000 CL30 isn't really worth it in my opinion.
Absolutely, the 6800 CL34 is a great choice. You can go into your BIOS and adjust the speed using EXPO, starting at 6000 and testing for stability. It’s interesting to note that 6800 CL34 has the same latency as 6000 CL30, which is pretty awesome!
I recommend sticking with the 6000MT/s CL30 RAM instead. It’s considered the sweet spot, especially for Ryzen processors. Running speeds above 6400MT/s can complicate things and doesn't always lead to better performance unless you're skilled in memory tweaking.
