Is a 1000W Power Supply Too Much for a 5070 Ti and 5700X Build?

I'm currently using a 3080 12GB along with a 5700X processor and a Cooler Master V850 SFX in my mini ITX setup. I'm considering switching to a Corsair PSU mainly for better cables and reduced noise. Recently, I got my hands on a 5070 Ti Asus Prime that has a maximum TDP of 350W, and I plan to overclock it. The Corsair SF850 is priced at £130, while the Corsair SF1000 is £150. Do you think the extra £20 for the 1000W version is worth it for future-proofing? According to PCPartPicker, my current setup's estimated wattage ranges from 450W to 500W, especially when overclocked. In the next few years, I might upgrade to a 6080 and an X3D CPU, which could increase my total wattage by another 200W. However, I've heard that higher-wattage PSUs can be less efficient at lower loads, and that's something I'm concerned about.

For just £20 more, definitely go for the 1000W. I was in a similar situation last week and opted for a 1000W PSU without regrets! A little extra wattage really helps with future upgrades.

I actually found a great deal on a 1200W PSU that was surprisingly reasonable. Even though it seemed overkill, it made more sense as a premium product with better reviews.
