Is a 500W Gold PSU sufficient for a 5700X3D and RTX 5060?

I'm planning to upgrade my setup from a 1060 Ti 6GB and a 2600X to something a bit more powerful. I'm considering the 5700X3D paired with an RTX 5060. I know some folks might suggest going for a system with more VRAM, like the 16GB RX 9060 or 5060 Ti, but honestly, I rarely use more than 4-5GB of VRAM in the games I play and I'm not looking to game at 1440p or really care about ray tracing right now. With the upgrade, I'll have 32GB of RAM, the new CPU, a 5060 GPU, plus three hard drives (two SSDs, one HDD), and a couple of fans and a keyboard. I'm hoping to make the most out of my current 500W 80+ Gold PSU, as every penny counts and I'm trying to keep my power consumption low, especially with multiple monitors and other tech in my setup. Do you think this PSU will be enough, or should I consider upgrading?

It's enough for now, but I wouldn’t be surprised if you need more watts down the line if you upgrade your GPU. A higher TDP could push you closer to the limit, so keep an eye on that!

Thanks for the heads-up! I’ll definitely keep it in mind as I move forward with my upgrades.

You should be good! I’m using a 4070 Super with a 5700X and my overall power usage peaks around 380W. Your 5060 uses around 145W and the 5700X3D comes in at about 105W. All together, you’re looking at around 250W, meaning your PSU has plenty of headroom for your setup.

Your current 500W PSU should work just fine for your setup. It will only draw the power it needs, so it shouldn't max out your PSU. Just make sure you have good quality PSU as it can affect performance.

Yeah, you’ll be around 50% load during gaming, which is ideal! Just keep in mind that if you decide to upgrade your GPU in the future to something with a higher TDP, you might want to reconsider getting a bigger PSU. But for now, you should be fine.
