I'm gearing up for a major upgrade to my PC and currently have the following setup: an R5 5600 processor with 16GB of DDR4 (non-RGB), an ROG STRIX B550-F GAMING WIFI II motherboard, and a GTX 750 Ti graphics card. I'm planning to switch to a 9060 XT 16GB from XFX. My concern is whether my current 500W PSU from a less-known brand, Mancer, will suffice for the new setup. Should I upgrade the PSU now, or can I hold off? I'm worried that a weak PSU could damage the new GPU. Additionally, would a 650W PSU be a solid choice for potential future upgrades, like moving to an AM5 platform? Lastly, I'd like your thoughts on whether to go with the XFX dual fan or the Asus dual fan card, as I'm not really into overclocking. I know the XFX comes with some default overclocking, but I'm curious if that's significant or not.

Check the PSU label to see how many watts it outputs at 12V; that's the critical measure. Good quality PSUs usually provide their rated output there. If it only shows 456W at 12V, it could get tight, especially since some benchmarks show the 9060 XT drawing up to 200W under load. You might need to rethink your PSU choice.
A 500W PSU might be enough for your setup, especially since you're using an R5 5600 and planning to add a 9060 XT. However, if the PSU is from a lesser-known brand, I'd recommend considering an upgrade just to be safe, particularly if it's not of high quality or if it's aging. If you can afford it, going for a 650W would be a smart move for future upgrades as well.
Yeah, if the PSU has been reliable for you and it's less than a couple of years old, you might get away with it for now! But worth keeping in mind that a stronger PSU gives you more options later on.

The label says 456W at 12V. Given that info, I'm starting to think I might need to upgrade after all.
