Is a 58% Battery Capacity and Swollen Condition Normal for a New iPhone 15 Pro Max?

I bought my iPhone 15 Pro Max in November 2023, and recently I've been facing some serious issues. The battery capacity is down to 58%, and it barely lasts 10 minutes without restarting. On top of that, I've noticed that the battery is swollen, causing the screen to separate from the back. This situation started happening all at once, and I'm concerned about what could have caused it. I consider myself careful with my devices and don't use my phone excessively. What should I do?

It's important you take this seriously. If the phone got very hot, or if it was dropped hard, that could have made the battery malfunction. You might even have a faulty battery that has just reached its end of life. It’s best to visit an Apple Store or a certified repair shop as soon as possible.

True! If you think it overheated, definitely mention that when you go in.

A swollen battery is definitely a major concern. It's crucial to get it replaced at an authorized service center immediately. Don’t wait any longer; a swollen battery can be very dangerous!

No, that's not typical at all! I got my 15 Pro Max around the same time, and my battery is at 81% capacity with great performance. It sounds like your device might have suffered some damage, maybe from an impact, and it’s definitely time to have it repaired or safely disposed of. Keep it away from people until that happens, just to be safe!

Yeah, I’d second that—better safe than sorry with these things!

If your phone is showing signs of a swollen battery, it's vital to stop using it right away. I wouldn't risk flying with it either. Just to let you know, it’s unusual for it to still be working like that. Take precautions!
