Is a 750W Power Supply Sufficient for My New PC Build?

I'm looking to upgrade my PC and I'm considering the following components: a 9950x3D processor, a B850 Tomahawk Max motherboard, an Arctic Freezer III 360 cooler, and 64GB of RAM. I'll also be using my existing RTX 3080 graphics card along with two NVMe drives. According to PCPartPicker, the estimated wattage for this setup is around 660W. With that in mind, I want to know if my current 750W gold-rated power supply will be enough for this new build, or if I should aim for something higher. Is the estimated wattage indicative of continuous usage, or is it safe to have some extra headroom?

It's generally recommended to have your power supply running at about 80% of its maximum capacity for efficiency. Since your estimated wattage is 660W, I'd suggest considering an 850W power supply. The price difference isn't huge, and going with an 850W will give you that extra breathing room. Just ensure it's a quality unit, ideally rated A on the PSU tier list.

One thing to keep in mind is the number of 8-pin connectors for your RTX 3080. If your card has two 8-pin connectors, 750W should be fine. But if it has three, you'll definitely want to go for an 850W unit to avoid potential issues.
