I'm putting together a PC with a Ryzen 7 7800X3D processor and an RTX 5070 graphics card. My cousin kindly gave me a Corsair RM750e power supply he didn't need anymore. While PSU calculators suggest that 750W should be adequate for the total wattage, I'm concerned about power spikes and overall reliability. Do you think the RM750e is solid enough for my setup, or should I consider other power supply options?

Absolutely, a 750W power supply should be enough for your build. Though some might argue for a bit more wattage, especially if you plan to upgrade later. But since you got it for free, it's a great deal!
You should be more than okay! If you're still worried about it, maybe grab one of those power meter plugins from Amazon to keep track of your usage.
I have a similar setup with an RTX 5070 and I use an 850W PSU. At peak, those two might pull around 400W, leaving plenty of headroom for cooling and other parts. You should be just fine!
You're definitely in the clear with a 750W PSU; that's not undersized at all. It actually gives you some leeway.
I run a 5800X3D and 5070 with 64GB of RAM and a bunch of fans on my RM750, and it works perfectly with lots of wattage to spare. The 7800X3D should be fine too, not a significant difference! I'd say you're good!
Check out this recommended PSU table I found; it gives you a good visual reference. A quality 750W PSU should work just fine. Just make sure the RM750e isn't an older model without that new 12pwr connector.

Yeah, it's a solid choice! Just ensure you monitor your power consumption.
