I found a GTX 1070 at a really low price, but it has no display ports and relies on my integrated graphics for display. I'm wondering how much of a performance hit I might experience compared to an RX 580 8GB. The price difference is only about $20, but that matters a lot in my situation. Should I go for the GTX 1070, or stick with the RX 580?

It’s most likely a mining card. Those cards were often modified to run 24/7 and may have a custom BIOS for efficiency, which could lower performance. Unless you specifically need something for light gaming and are okay with potential issues, I'd recommend skipping it. An RX 580 would probably give you a better experience without the headaches.
Using a dGPU without a display port is unusual, but you can route everything through your onboard GPU. Just be aware it may add some latency, which can impact gameplay. If your current setup struggles with the GTX’s distance from your CPU, it could affect performance too, especially in demanding games. Generally speaking, I'd lean toward the RX 580 for a smoother experience.
That makes sense. It sounds like I could be setting myself up for potential issues with the GTX 1070. I’ll think twice about that.
I don't think there were any legitimate GTX 1070s made without ports. It sounds suspicious to me. You might want to do some extra research or look for another deal. Buying something that seems off might not be worth it long term.
Yeap, be careful! If the price is too good to be true, it often is. Better to invest in something reliable.
The GTX 1070 without ports is generally not great for gaming. It's likely a mining card that can't output video directly. You'll be depending on your iGPU, which can lead to a few percent drop in performance, mainly in the low-end frame rates. If you're tech-savvy and have a decent CPU, it could work, but I'd only recommend it if the price difference really makes sense for you.
Thanks for the insight! I think I’ll ask the seller for benchmarks to see how it performs compared to what I might expect from the RX 580.

Smart move. Plus, RX 580s have good support and performance for most modern games, so it’s a safer bet.
