Is a GTX 1650 Safe to Use with a 200W HP OEM Power Supply?

I'm looking for some advice regarding my HP ProDesk 600 G2 SFF PC setup. My current specs are an Intel i5-6500, a GT 730 2 GB GPU, 16GB of RAM, a 256GB SSD, and a 750GB HDD, all powered by a 200W HP/OEM power supply. I want to upgrade my GPU to a GTX 1650, specifically the 75W version that doesn't require a 6-pin connector. My calculations show that under max stress, my current system uses around 135-140W. With the GTX 1650, that could go up to about 175-180W, but real gaming loads would likely be around 130-150W. Given this info, do you all think it's safe to make this upgrade?

You should be okay, but you're really pushing the limits of an older power supply. Just keep in mind that your PSU is quite basic and may not provide full power consistently. Everything in your system is pretty much at the edge.

Yeah, I'm just seeing the GTX 1650 as a temporary solution for a few months while I figure out my options.

Definitely! A GTX 1650 should work fine with your setup, even the Super version can run with a SATA to 6-pin adapter. Your CPU is pretty efficient, so a 75W GPU shouldn't be an issue.

That's somewhat reassuring, but I'm worried about the power limits since the PSU is older. I've heard they typically deliver only about 70-75% of their rated power, does that sound right?
