Is a No-Code Marketplace Feasible for B2C?

Hey everyone! I'm seeking some insights on creating a marketplace website for business-to-consumer transactions. Do you think it's possible to do this using no-code platforms like Bubble.io or Sharetribe? Or is the project too complex, and would it be better to opt for a custom-built solution? I'd love to hear all your thoughts, including the pros and cons. Thanks a bunch!

Definitely, you can use no-code tools like Bubble or Sharetribe for a B2C marketplace, especially in the early stages. Sharetribe is awesome if your business model fits what it offers. You’ll get things moving quickly without having to redo the basics. Bubble provides more flexibility, but that could lead to a bit of a mess down the line as your site gets more complicated. These tools are best for testing demand rather than scaling up heavily right away. Custom builds usually make sense after you've proven your concept and know where no-code might fall short. Many entrepreneurs waste a lot on custom sites too soon. It's often best to start with a minimal version of your marketplace — just listings, users, and simple transactions — and then choose the tool that gets you live the fastest. Some folks even try lighter setups first to validate their concept before going full-scale.

What exactly are you planning to sell? Are you thinking of services, memberships, or physical products? Also, where are you located and who are your target customers? It’s hard to give tailored advice without knowing more about your vision.

I was thinking about a marketplace where beauty salons can create their own pages, and customers can book appointments through my platform. I’m based in the EU, specifically targeting Western Europe.
