Hey everyone! I'm a college senior really passionate about product development and I have this idea that I'm excited to share. What if there was a wallet that not only locks and can be tracked, but also helps you manage your finances? We've all had the stressful experience of losing a wallet or having it stolen, which means locking cards and buying a new one. This SecureWallet concept aims to solve those issues. Do you all think this idea could actually work? I'd love to hear your thoughts and maybe dive into the tech side if you're interested!

While a lock might deter some snoopers, I agree that you can’t really stop a determined thief. And while integrating a tracker could be appealing, tracker cards are already available. It feels like wallets are becoming a thing of the past anyway.
There are already tracker cards for wallets, and honestly, if mine were stolen, I wouldn't rely on a lock for security. A quick cut with an angle grinder will open most locks. I think most people just use their phones these days for payments anyway, so maybe wallets are fading out?
I totally hear you on that! I've switched to just carrying my phone with a single card in the case. I did try setting up Google Wallet but I have to call my bank to get it linked. Quick question for you: sometimes my card won't tap and just gives an 'authorization failed' message—what happens if I'm just using my phone and don't have my card on hand?
Exactly, and you know no lock is completely pickproof. They can prevent casual theft, but for someone determined, they'll find a way. Do you ever go out without carrying cash or cards at all?
True, but think about safes and password-protected accounts. While nothing is 100% secure, aren't there still practical needs for wallets? At the very least, people need somewhere to carry cash, an ID, and a credit card when they head out!
