I'm trying to optimize the performance of my external hard drive, which has a USB 3 Micro B output. I've noticed significant lag and long loading times when playing a particular game, even after switching from a regular black USB-A port to a blue USB 3 port on my computer. I'm curious if using a USB 3 Micro B to USB-C cable would improve performance further, considering the only USB-C port on my PC is located in the front. Would it be worth making this investment? Thanks for your help!

It really depends on the ports you’re using rather than just the cable. USB-C is not automatically faster than USB-A; it’s the specifications of the port that matter. You might not see a huge difference just by switching cables. Also, consider upgrading to a larger internal SSD for better performance; external drives can be slower, especially for gaming.

So you're saying it might depend on the color of the ports? I'm not very tech-savvy, which is why I'm asking. I do plan to get an internal SSD eventually, but transitioning seems a bit overwhelming right now.
