Is AM4 a Solid Choice for a Student Upgrade?

I'm a student using a pretty old prebuilt PC that I upgraded with more RAM a while back. Unfortunately, my setup is still using DDR4, and I don't have the budget or flexibility to dive into an expensive AM5 build, especially with RAM prices as they are. I'm considering getting an AM4 motherboard and sticking with my current RAM while adding a low to mid-range graphics card. I'm hoping to keep the total cost under $700-800 for the GPU, CPU, motherboard, PSU, and case. Any suggestions or advice?

If you're looking to maximize your budget, going for used parts could really help. Just keep in mind that a decent GPU might take up a significant portion of your budget. Checking eBay for parts has worked well for me—just ensure you buy from reliable sellers to avoid any hassle with returns.

Do you have any specific GPU or CPU suggestions? I'm leaning towards the Ryzen 5 5600 with some affordable Radeon card. My focus is more on video editing and workstation tasks than gaming.
