I'm a third-year college student and I just landed my first internship. The company uses an older stack with CakePHP and AngularJS, but they're planning to switch to GO and REACT next year. In the meantime, I will be trained to gain experience with the old stack. I'm wondering if this will have a negative impact on my career prospects in the future, or if I should just take the experience as a valuable opportunity.

Working with PHP isn’t a bad thing! Many companies are still running on PHP, and having that knowledge can really broaden your job opportunities. Plus, older stacks can teach you the fundamentals which are valuable no matter what stack you end up using later.
Sounds like you don’t have other options right now, so I say go for it! Experience is key, and you’ll be learning a lot even with the old tech.

I have other options, but they're not until later in the year, so I think I’ll take this one. Thanks for the advice!
